Dr Shahzad, consultant psychiatrist has vast experience in diagnosing and managing a range of mental illnesses and challenging behaviour across the adult population, including people with intellectual disabilities. 

Specialising in psychiatry of intellectual disabilities, Dr Shahzad treats neuro-development disorders such as ASD and ADHD and associated co-morbidities. Working across the Wirral and Cheshire boroughs, Dr Shahzad is a lead consultant in adult ASD services with extensive experience in conducting diagnostic assessments for Autism spectrum disorder in the adult population, including people with and without intellectual disabilities. 

Before completing a Masters's degree in Healthcare Ethics and Law in 2015 from the University of Manchester, Dr Shahzad completed higher training in Psychiatry of Intellectual Disabilities. 

When Dr Shahzad isn't teaching, training or researching the diagnostic assessment of Autism, she can be found spending some downtime with a good book, travelling around the world and cooking up a storm in her kitchen.
