Psychology

Our clinic offers a Psychotherapy service based on a therapeutic approach that integrates:

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is an approach that helps people to identify the thinking patterns that cause distress. It helps in learning how to identify and change destructive or disturbing thought patterns that have a negative influence on behaviour and emotions. One of the greatest benefits of CBT is that it helps in developing coping skills that can be useful both now and in the future.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is an approach in which the client learns to stop avoiding, denying, and struggling with their inner emotions and instead accepting them as they come, developing a new and compassionate relationship with those experiences.

Compassion-focused Therapy (CFT) is an approach which aims to help create a positive emotional response for those who are dealing with low self-worth, encouraging them to be compassionate toward themselves and other people.

Treatment

Your therapist will complete an initial assessment called a "formulation" session to determine whether you could benefit from undertaking psychological therapy. Once completed, they will recommend a course of therapy and an estimate of the number of sessions required.

Each session usually lasts 60 minutes. Frequency will be determined between you and your therapist.
